Eighteen Years Too Late...

Wondering why there’s been no responses to my piece on Ashcroft’s declaration last week that Operation TIPS would not require a database. I actually think there’s more than a little substance to this… then again, maybe not. But the prospects of Ashcroft and the Orwellians (that’s my new favorite name for a rock group) getting millions of Americans to surveil each other without using any technology… doesn’t this strike you as a bit, um, misguided? And isn’t that what got some other branches of government in trouble last year?
