Like clockwork...

My last ThinkPad gave up the ghost at about 13 months old. And here I am, another ThinkPad, another “unmountable boot volume” blue screen of death. Almost 13 months to the day.
Sigh.

Even I can see the irony in the fact that my blog is the #1 search for thinkpad unmountable boot volume. :)

  1. I think you should head on over to the hoosier state, grab some M-80's and blow it up for the blog.

    Blowing up stuff is cool.

  2. Gee Mike, that didn't take long! You'll be happy to know that I'm currently using a Mac mini that hangs around the office while I wait for my new hard drive. I've got a fun (!) night ahead of me rebuilding my hard drive... but given that this is the company computer, I won't be switching anytime soon (much to the chagrin of many of my co-workers, who'd love nothing more than to see me eat crow and use a Mac).

Tom: huh huh. Huh huh. Fire.

  3. An annual crash of thinkpads is very common. Would be a grat topic for a new conspiracy.

I’m always amazed when I hear that people read my blog — I suppose I shouldn’t be, given the business I’m in — and when he was so quick to respond with genuine concern about the failed drive, I was really impressed.
