I think the ads are brilliant… you watch them every time they come on, regardless of how many times you’ve seen them. They seem to be trying to recast Jetta as a safe brand, and given the sales results, it seems clear they’re succeeding.
Tough call. I thought the satire was brilliant, but the venue was wrong. When you’re a guest at an event, you shouldn’t insult your hosts – lampoon, sure. Insult, demean, belittle? No.
The only thing this article is missing is pretty much every second of Johnny Mnemonic. (That Keanu Reeves was also in the Matrix is the only way I could forgive him for wasting an hour and a half on JM.)
